Get to know Gervisuals
To celebrate Gervisuals’ NFT drop this coming August 1, the World team took the chance to introduce Germán more to the World community. Enjoy!
1. Can you tell us a little more about yourself, the ups and downs you’ve faced, and how you overcame them as an artist?
My name is Germán Benito, I am a Spanish digital artist and I work as a graphic designer. Since I was little, I have liked to draw and as soon as I could I made the leap to the digital world. This job generates a lot of frustration, a lot of insecurities, but the best thing is not to think about what others want, but what you like, to be satisfied with your own work, and to understand that you cannot always be 100% . You have to have time to rest, disconnect and recharge in order for you to create your best work.
2. Tell us more about your design process when you create your work
I have different ways of working. Sometimes the idea just comes to my head, but other times I need to observe, see illustrations, get inspired by music, movies … and with that puzzle of images, form my next idea.
Sometimes I make pencil sketches before starting with the computer, but many other times I start to form the image directly in Photoshop.
3. Where do you get inspiration that keeps you driven as an artist every day?
Inspiration can come from anything. In my case I am very inspired by music, comics, and movies, I love cinema and I think that cinematographic essence is captured in my works.
I also love watching colleagues work and influencing each other.
4. What’s the most expensive NFT you’ve sold?
It sure was the auction I made on crypto.com which sold for $20,000 US.
5. What do you hope to achieve in the NFT space?
It would be a dream to be able to dedicate myself exclusively to this world and to be able to earn a living with my creations. Of course, anything will be welcome, and I am already more than grateful for the opportunities it has given to many artists.
6. What’s next for Gervisuals?
I will continue creating my works as I have been doing to this day. Hoping they can give me benefits in the NFT space.
I also want to put out another new Photoshop tutorial since my fans and followers ask me a lot.
Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for his NFT drop this August 1, 2021 #ProudWorldCitizens
