In this article, we’ll be going through the common questions our World Citizens ask when using the marketplace.

How to list items (non-NFT items)

  1. Connect the whitelisted wallet by pressing ‘connect wallet’
  2. Sign the signature request pop-up on the upper right of the screen
  3. Press ‘create’
  4. Fill up the form — upload the previews and thumbnail, necessary details, prices, time limit (if applicable), and secret content link
  5. Remember to click the ‘merchant’ radio button under ‘Listing Type’
  6. Complete the captcha and press ‘create listing’
  7. The item is good-to-go!

Secret content link — The secret content link is the link that will pop-up on the buyer’s screen once the buyer has sent his/her payment to the smart contract escrow. This is where the seller can put the links where buyers can download the files they purchased.

How to list an NFT

  1. Connect the whitelisted wallet by pressing ‘connect wallet’
  2. Sign the signature request pop-up on the upper right of the screen
  3. Press ‘create’
  4. Fill up the form with the necessary details
  5. Remember to click the ‘NFT’ radio button under ‘Listing Type’
  6. Check your wallet for the token details (ID, Address, and if it’s a 721 or 1155 standard token)
  7. Complete the captcha and press ‘create listing’
  8. The item is good-to-go!

How to buy items (non-NFT items)

  1. Choose the item you wish to purchase
  2. Press ‘Place Order’
  3. Fill out offer and expiration time (if applicable), complete the captcha and press ‘Place Order’
  4. Wait for the seller to accept the order
  5. Once the offer is accepted, click ‘Pay Order’ to send the buyer’s $WORLD to the smart contract escrow. Note that this action is irreversible once done.
  6. After paying, the ‘Secret Content’ link will pop-up on the screen, allowing the buyer to download the purchased digital item.
  7. Once the buyer is satisfied with the order, the buyer clicks ‘Release Payment’ to send the payment from the escrow to the seller. The buyer may also file a ‘File Dispute’, more information on FAQ #9.
  8. Transaction is complete

Release Payment — the buyer will release funds from the escrow smart contract for the seller to receive. Doing this action finalizes the transaction and will close the window for any disputes.

File Dispute — if the buyer is not satisfied with the order (due to some error, malfunction of link, or lack of quality) the buyer may file a dispute to try to get a refund on his/her $WORLD payment even though the seller does not agree. A delegated moderator will be in charge in assessing the situation. More on this on FAQ #9.

How to accept orders (non-NFT items)

  1. Go to ‘Dashboard’ and press ‘Listing Orders’
  2. Click the right side of the order
  3. Press ‘Accept Order’
  4. Click ‘Sign’ on the wallet pop-up to accept the order
  5. Once the buyer is satisfied with the order, the buyer clicks ‘Release Payment’ to send the payment from the escrow to the seller.
  6. The seller may also choose to refund the buyer by pressing ‘Refund Buyer’
  7. Once the payment has been released, the transaction is complete.
  8. If the buyer is not happy with the content but the seller does NOT agree to give the buyer a refund/replace item, the buyer may click ‘File Dispute’

Refund Buyer — the seller will release the $WORLD from the smart contract escrow back to the buyer’s wallet. More on this on FAQ #___

File Dispute — if the buyer is not satisfied with the order (due to some error, malfunction of link, or lack of quality) the buyer may file a dispute to try to get a refund on his/her $WORLD payment even though the seller does not agree. A delegated moderator will be in charge in assessing the situation. More on this on FAQ #___.

What happens if the buyer does not release any payment? — Don’t worry! The order is stored in the escrow smart contract, not giving the buyer the ability to run away with the payment. If the buyer does not release payment by the order’s expiration time (the time limit stated under ‘disputable within’), a “release payment” button will appear on the seller’s side, allowing the seller to release payment from the escrow. So in short, the worst that could happen is that your payment gets delayed.

How to edit listings

  1. Go to the item you want to edit and press the gear icon on the right
  2. Click ‘Update Listing’
  3. Render your desired edits
  4. Press ‘Update Listing’ once done

How to close listings

  1. Go to the item to be edited and press the gear icon on the right
  2. Click ‘Close Listing’
  3. Click ‘Continue’ on the pop-up
  4. The listing will now be closed for offers until further notice.

The reason why there isn’t a ‘delete listing’ option is to preserve the history of the buyers and sellers’ interactions — just in case future disputes arise.

However, you may choose to hide listings so that they won’t appear on the marketplace anymore until further notice. More on this on FAQ #___

How to re-open listings

  1. Go to the item to be edited and press the gear icon on the right
  2. Click ‘Open Listing’
  3. Click ‘Continue’ on the pop-up

How to hide listings

  1. Go to the item to be edited and press the gear icon on the right
  2. Click ‘Hide Listing’
  3. Click ‘Continue’ on the pop-up

How to un-hide listings

  1. Go to the seller ‘dashboard’ and click ‘listings’
  2. Go to the item to be edited and press the gear icon on the right
  3. Click ‘Show Listing’
  4. Click ‘Continue’ on the pop-up

How to get a refund

  1. Once the ‘Pay Order’ has been clicked but the buyer is not satisfied with your order, the buyer may ask the seller for a refund.
  2. Go to the chat box on the right side of the screen and explain the problem. Try to talk it out with the seller.
  3. If the seller agrees for a refund, he/she will click ‘Refund Buyer’ to released the payment back to the buyer’s wallet.
  4. If the seller does not agree for a refund, the buyer may click the ‘File Dispute’ button to contend for a refund despite the seller’s disapproval. See next FAQ.

Refund Buyer — the seller will release the $WORLD from the smart contract escrow back to the buyer’s wallet. Gas will be needed.

How to dispute an order

Disputing an order allows the buyer to contend for a payment refund if the seller disagrees to do so. Doing this action will open the conversation for a moderator (hired by the World team) who will assess the situation and allow both parties to make their respective cases.

This feature is currently being worked on by the World Development team.

How to cancel an order (both sides)

  1. On the left side of the screen, click “Cancel Order”
  2. You’re done!
